Laborer / Operator 1
The Village of Hebron is accepting applications to fill a full-time Laborer/Operator 1 position as member of its water department team. This position provides “hands on” technical assistance and support by performing a variety of tasks under the general direction of the Water Superintendent associated with the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of the drinking water treatment and distribution facilities.
Salary $18.71 - $26.20 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
· Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license and acceptable driving record that qualifies for coverage with the village insurance carrier’s underwriting requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Possession of a valid Ohio EPA Class I Water Supply Professional Operators Certificate or ability to obtain an Ohio EPA Class I Water Supply Professional Operators Certificate.
· Standard principles of chemistry, mathematics, and hydraulics
· Basic mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
· Knowledge or experience of the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of underground piping, fire hydrants, valves, cold-water metering devices, pumps, motors, drives, and controls.
Abilities:
· Obtain an Ohio EPA Water Laboratory “Full” Wet Chemistry Certificate.
· Be able to consistently lift 50 lbs.
· Be able to perform assigned work in “undesirable” environments (inherently hazardous areas, inclement weather, etc.)
· Be able to work overtime, evenings, weekends, or respond to emergencies as assigned.
Other Requirements:
· The selected candidate is required to successfully complete the village’s pre-employment BCI criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening.
