Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial HVAC Estimator & Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our growing team. This position requires a strong background in commercial HVAC systems, with expertise in blueprint takeoffs, bidding, submittal gathering, and materials ordering. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing HVAC projects from start to finish, with an eye for detail, efficiency, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. HVAC Estimation:

    • Perform accurate and detailed takeoffs from blueprints and specifications.
    • Prepare competitive and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects.
    • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to ensure all costs are accounted for.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to verify pricing and scope.
  2. Bidding & Proposal Preparation:

    • Lead the preparation of HVAC bids for commercial projects, ensuring all technical and financial aspects are addressed.
    • Submit proposals, respond to bidder inquiries, and track the progress of bids.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to optimize proposals and win new business.
  3. Project Management:

    • Manage all phases of commercial HVAC projects, from pre-construction through to completion.
    • Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely execution of HVAC installation projects.
    • Oversee the project budget, schedule, and resources to ensure cost-effective and on-time delivery.
    • Address any challenges or issues that arise during project implementation and resolve them in a timely manner.
  4. Submittals & Material Procurement:

    • Gather and prepare necessary submittals and ensure that they are approved by the project owner or contractor.
    • Order HVAC materials and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and delivery to the job site.
    • Track and manage inventory to prevent delays and optimize material usage.
  5. Quality Control & Safety:

    • Ensure that all HVAC installations comply with local codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
    • Monitor and enforce quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Client Relations:

    • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project progress, timelines, and costs.
    • Foster positive relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and the potential for future business.
  7. Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, change orders, project schedules, and other relevant documents.
    • Provide regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting any potential issues or delays.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC estimation and project management, specifically in the commercial sector.
  • Skills: Proficiency in blueprint reading, HVAC system design, takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, etc.), and cost estimation.
  • Project Management: Strong knowledge of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and installation methods for commercial applications.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HVAC-specific software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • PMP or other project management certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, industry standards, and HVAC regulations.
