Job Title: Vehicle Equipment and Fleet Services Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Manages the maintenance and associated fleet services. Supervises technical and support staff personnel. Administers work in compliance with the Department of Transportation by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversees all facets of the daily operations of the organizational unit to ensure compliance with the company, state and federal laws, policies and regulations.*
- Oversees the supervision of personnel which includes work allocation, training and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; and motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.*
- Obtains, quantifies and reports condition of fleet usage and needs according to accepted practices, standards and methods.*
- Participates in the development and implementation of company wide safety programs and in formulating associated maintenance strategies and policies.*
- Evaluates preventative maintenance programs and modifies programs as necessary to increase efficiency, service and effectiveness.*
- Directs and coordinates fleet operations and scheduling to ensure availability of vehicles and equipment.*
- Manages operation of motor vehicle repair, service and storage facilities.*
- Manages automotive parts and tire inventory program including purchasing and distribution.*
- Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short and long range planning and develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.*

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet software and inventory software.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver's License
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises fleet of forty vehicles and drivers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
