REPRESENTATIVE

CONSTRUCTION

Pumford Construction, Inc. has a position available for a highly motivated and experienced SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE to be a dedicated resource to the site employees and contracted vendors to prevent injury and proactively target activities that may present hazards in the work place. This role is a combination of understanding legal safety requirements and setting standards for the company workforce.

Reports to the Safety Director.

DUTIES /

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Ensure Safety Program is in compliance with state and federal safety standards and regulations.

•Stay abreast of the latest regulations, laws and trends for government regulatory agencies and industry sources.

•Recommend safety measures to help protect employees from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.

•Discuss safety with the in-house workers and on-site vendors.

•Assist supervisors with accident investigations to identify root causes and determine how these accidents might be prevented in the future.

•Conduct safety audits/ inspections at work sites.

•Maintain various safety records.

•Attend safety seminars and/or training classes.

KNOWLEDGE /

EXPERIENCE

•Candidates benefit from having a bachelor's degree in Safety Management and Construction Industry experience.

•Candidates with experience in the construction industry preferred.

•Ability to work with and lead all construction groups: management, owners, trades and subcontractors.

•Must understand OSHA / MIOSHA rules and regulations.

•Must be able to pass required drug testing.

•Must be able to pass a Federal Background check.
