Street Light Specialist
WHAT YOU WOULD DO:

Advise customers on Utility street and leased lighting rate schedules, policy and installation parameters.

Perform field visits to design leased light services, estimate cost and complete account set up.

Review and approve street light layout for new subdivisions with LUDs and provide sourcing and account updates for in-city subdivision street lighting.

Coordinate with contractors, developers or governmental agencies in regards to street lighting for road frontage improvements and new residential development.

Facilitate and oversee the formation of LUDs and yearly LUD assessment billing.

Support and communicate effectively with Construction and Maintenance Superintendents, Construction Services, Construction Design, Service department and maintenance contractors to ensure efficient and timely completion of lighting jobs.

Oversee utility street light maintenance program; including review of lighting related bids, coordination of materials, monitor work sent to streetlight maintenance contract crew, inspect and approve contractor work as necessary, reconcile completed work and invoices.

Work with governmental agencies in accordance with contractual maintenance agreements.

Facilitate and maintain tagging of street lights and leased lights.

Reconcile and maintain street lighting with GIS/OVS and lighting service accounts. Maintain accurate consolidated billing for municipal accounts.

Facilitate and oversee periodic street light audits which may be County wide or for individual cities.

Research and recommend appropriate technologies in street and leased lighting and facilitate any associated pilot programs and new technology testing.

Serve as a liaison between the utility and public agencies interested in street lighting pilots and street light system upgrades.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent is preferred. Electric utility background with a minimum of five years of applicable design and/or construction experience is preferred. Knowledge of utility street lighting and engineering design standards, basic lighting and electrical principals, construction practices, IES and the NESC, preferred. Proficient working with current CPU systems; Work Management, and GIS/Maps. Experience in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook. Must be customer service focused and have outstanding interpersonal skills, be creative, flexible, team-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
This full-time position reports to the Construction Services Manager and is located at the Ed Fischer Operations Center

SALARY:
Clark Public Utilities' salary ranges are market based and established annually. With full competency in the role and satisfactory performance the target is midpoint within the established range. Street Light Specialist: $75,240 - $89,905 - $104,570
