The Benton/Washington Regional Public Water Authority has a new position for a Journeyman Electrician that is scheduled to start on, or shortly after, January 3, 2023. This position is Full Time (40 hours per week) and the normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. New hires are eligible for Full Benefits after 30 days of employment. The minimum requirements for employment at BWRPWA are as follows: You must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or equivalent. You must currently have a clean driving record and have reliable transportation. Applicants must be able to attend training classes which may involve overnight travel and/or attending evening/night courses. All applicants will have a criminal history background check performed on them, and all applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen test before any offer of employment is made. Pursuant to Arkansas ACT 593, this position has been deemed as Safety Sensitive Positions. Additional job specific requirements can be seen below.
Journeyman Electrician – BWRPWA is seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician, who while working, under supervision of a Supervisory Master Electrician, will work on the Authority’s water treatment plant, transmission system, and other associated facilities. This includes working on system appurtenances, including but not limited to pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, treatment plant instrumentation, plant electrical systems, PLC systems, SCADA systems, and office network systems. This work also includes working in proximity of 4160 volts and below power, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and the employee must have the ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, work at levels approximately 150 feet above ground level, be able to differentiate colors, and be familiar with all pertinent safety equipment as it applies to doing this type of work.
This position requires that applicants that have a minimum of one (1) year experience of electrical work as a licensed Journeyman Electrician, preferably in a water treatment and transmission system setting, however electrical experience in an industrial setting will be acceptable.
This position also requires that the employee currently have or be able to obtain, a minimum of an Arkansas Department of Health Level 4 Water Treatment and a Level 4 Water Distribution License within 24 months of their starting date. All coursework necessary for obtaining the Water Licenses will be paid for by BWRPWA.
The starting pay range for this position is $25.00 per hour ($52,000 annually) to $30.00 per hour ($62,400 annually) depending on experience, training, and current licensing.
