Description The primary responsibility of the Operator is to assist with the operations of the facility. Plant facilities could include plant compressors, electric generation, dehydration equipment, control systems, as well as other processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently operates process equipment to move materials; start, stop, and regulate pumps, compressors, and fans; adjust valves and switches to regulate temperature, pressures, flow rates and flow direction.
  • Read flows, temperatures and pressure gauges, determining product levels in tanks or other storage facilities; patrols units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions.
  • Performs preventive maintenance checks on running equipment, making minor repairs when indicated; assists in the repair of plant equipment and controls and in construction of new facilities.
  • Inspects equipment to include heaters, dehydration units, lines, and pumps; inspects safety equipment as appropriate; identifies problems, communicating concerns and issues to supervisors and other departments.
  • Lubricates and cleans equipment, determining repairs for scheduling, performing designated repairs and maintenance of equipment; adjusts and maintains supplies of chemical additives that protect and clean process equipment.
  • Makes appropriate adjustments to control system to regulate and coordinate process variables (flow, temperature, pressure and chemicals) as specified.
  • Locates and analyzes sources of operating upsets, to determine location and nature of malfunctions, such as leaks, breakages, and faulty valves and taking corrective action.
  • Performs routine operational checks, logging designated engine/compressor conditions, as well as other processing equipment, making corrections as necessary; documents all daily operational tasks, changes in operating parameters, tracking product and waste fluids. Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Work with other employees to safely and efficiently coordinate all tasks.
  • Adheres to effective internal controls.
  • Understands facility regulatory requirements in order to operate plant in compliance with the applicable regulations.

    Requirements Required Qualifications

  • One year of mechanical background, including the understanding of valves, compressors, and other machinery
  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • Must have computer experience, with knowledge and experience in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.\
  • Availability to work under a rotating workweek, including an on-call schedule and be available for overtime and weekend duty as needed.
  • Able and willing to work weekends and holidays, required to cover weekend shifts and 24 hour callouts year round , work load increases during the fall and winter months.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds safely. Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the dehydration process, engine/compressor control panels, both electronic and pneumatic.
  • Experience with gas detection and emergency shutdown systems.
