Responsible for operating one or more gas facility processes, including widely diversified job tasks within the same process, in a safe manner; responsible for assisting in shutdown planning. Plant facilities could include plant compressors, electric generation, dehydration equipment, control systems, as well as other processes. Facility will be operated as efficiently and profitably as possible. Location of the position is located at Eunice, NM.


1. Efficiently operates process equipment to move materials; start, stop, and regulate pumps, compressors, and fans; adjust valves and switches to regulate temperature, pressures, flow rates and flow direction;

2. Read flows, temperatures and pressure gauges, determining product levels in tanks or other storage facilities; observes instrument and process controllers to verify specified conditions; patrols units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions.

3. Performs preventive maintenance checks on running equipment, making minor repairs when indicated; assists in the repair of plant equipment and controls and in construction of new facilities; assures that plant and compressor buildings, office, pipe racks, equipment, plant skids and valve settings are maintained in a weed-free, clean and painted condition.

4. Adheres to Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and participates in program development and reviews.

5. Records meter and gauge data, recording results of laboratory analyses.

6. Inspects equipment to include heaters, dehydration units, lines, and pumps; inspects safety equipment as appropriate; identifies problems, communicating concerns and issues to supervisors and other departments.

7. Draws samples from tanks, towers, and piping for testing.

8. Lubricates and cleans equipment, determining repairs for scheduling, performing designated repairs and maintenance of equipment; adjusts and maintains supplies of chemical additives that protect and clean process equipment; performs and oversees scheduled maintenance projects concerning facility processing equipment;

documents all work performed and parts used.

9. Makes appropriate adjustments to control system to regulate and coordinate process variables (flow, temperature, pressure and chemicals) as specified; monitors controls to regulate temperature, pressure, flow rate and tank levels according to process schedules; adjusts control instruments; communicates adjustments and changes to other operators and supervisor.

10. Locates and analyzes sources of operating upsets, to determine location and nature of malfunctions, such as leaks, breakages, and faulty valves, taking corrective action; reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel; documents all trouble shooting work performed or mechanical changes/adjustments made to facility processing equipment.

11. Performs routine operational checks, logging designated engine/compressor conditions, as well as other processing equipment, making corrections as necessary; documents all daily operational tasks, changes in operating parameters, tracking product and waste fluids.

12. Assists in operating the facility to maximize profitability.

13. Attends and actively participates in safety meetings and the Enstor safety program.

14. Understands facility regulatory requirements in order to operate plant in compliance with the applicable regulations.

15. Works closely with Enstor Marketing team to ensure daily nominations are met.

16. Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

17. Able and willing to work weekends and holidays, required to cover weekend shifts and 24 hour callouts year round , work load increases during the fall and winter months. Due to weather and marketing.

26. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds safely.

27. Must have adequate hearing and speech to communicate effectively with co-workers and others by telephone, two-way radio, and in-person.

28. Work will require walking, standing, bending, kneeling, uneven work surfaces and repetitive motion while using tools to repair equipment.

29. Work requires use of computers with exposure to video display terminals.

30. Work requires climbing ladders, vessels and tanks above 20 feet.

32. Work is performed in high noise, high temperature areas with exposure to environmental stress.

33. Work involves processing odors and chemical exposure.

34. Work involves processing Natural Gas which is the primary hazard.

35. Work is normally performed out of doors in all weather conditions.

36. Work will involve driving Enstor vehicles.

The noise level in the work environment is normally high and personnel will be exposed to loud machinery.


High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Must have five years of Industry related job experience and/or a combination of education and experience. Candidates with less experience may be considered at the Operator level

Must have computer experience, with knowledge and experience in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Must be willing to assist others, learn new skills, and participate in a productive team environment.

Must have valid driver's license for state of residency and be insurable under the Enstor vehicle insurance policy.

Must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal history background check.

Must be able to work under a rotating workweek, including an on-call schedule and be available for overtime and weekend duty as needed.


Knowledge of natural gas engines and compressors with the ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot.

Knowledge of engine/compressor control panels, both electronic and pneumatic.

Knowledge of gas detection and emergency shutdown systems.

Knowledge of CFR 192 Transportation of Natural and Other Gas by Pipeline.
