Key Responsibilities:  This position is located in Commerce, TX.

  • Supervises and manages construction projects as the Owner's representative
  • Provides effective construction management of assigned projects by coordinating all pre-construction and construction activity on these projects, including project design, development of construction documents, preparation of project estimates and budgets, receipt and evaluation of project proposals, site observation of construction, budget and schedule management, project close-out and post construction issues such as warranty or latent defect claims
  • Ensures Federal, State, and local laws and codes concerning health, safety, accessibility, and the environment are strictly adhered to in the programming, design, and construction of  facilities projects
  • Committed to continuously improving the quality and value of service provided to customers.  Strives to exceed customer expectations by ensuring all communication to customers is responsive, respectful, and solutions-oriented
  • Must be able to work safely in a construction environment and be able to fully tour construction sites in order to monitor progress and adherence to the projects' construction documents
  • Contributes to a safe work environment by quickly reporting accidents and unsafe working conditions 
  • Liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, regulatory agencies, hospital facilities staff, material and equipment suppliers
  • Preparation of preliminary (and detailed) estimates as well as fixed-price contract proposals for maintenance repair, alteration and improvement work to be performed by Facilities staff or outside contractors
  • Pull together project packages (including HUB plans) and works with contractors/vendors on project pricing as directed by Facilities Director and/or Asst. Director
  • Routinely input data related to projects budgets, on-going project costs, monthly projections and billing-related information using E-Builder and other programs

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Two year Tech Degree in engineering or equivalent work or military experience in a related field required
  • Five years management experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering and construction principles, practices and procedures, applicable laws and government regulations, principles of management
  • Ability to travel 75%-80% in support of the division programs and requirements
  • Must possess a working knowledge of JCAHO, NFPA
  • Construction based CADD experience required
  • Participates in safety training
  • Operates company vehicles as required
  • Uses proper personal protection equipment and follows safety procedures outlined in Material Safety Data Sheets
